Madrid, February 4, 2019.- The Real Madrid Foundation and the NGO Crusade for Children renewed their collaboration for the development of socio-sporting schools in the communities near the National Park of Gorongosa, Mozambique.
In an act chaired by Enrique Sánchez at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, María Díaz de la Cebosa, president of Crusade for Children and Vasco Galante, project director of the NGO in Gorongosa, the collaboration agreement was ratified in the presence of the ambassador of the Royal Madrid CF, Álvaro Arbeloa. The socio-sport project benefits 280 girls between the ages of 6 and 17, and incorporates actions linked to education, health and care of the environment. The initiative aims to promote the empowerment of women in their communities through the values of sport, as well as other social and cultural activities.
The Real Madrid Foundation provides the necessary teaching material and carries out the training activities aimed at the coaches of the Scociodeportivas Schools. For its part, Crusade for Children, in collaboration with the National Park of Gorongosa, provides the facilities and staff (educators / trainers) to which is trained in the methodology of the Real Madrid Foundation “For a REAL education: Values and sports ” The seven communities with which they work are in one of the most disadvantaged areas, both in the continent and in the country. The medium-term objective is to increase the number of communities and beneficiaries reached by this Program.
María Díaz de la Cebosa has highlighted the responsibility that organizations have to “promote actions that contribute to the integral development of children, that help them improve their global opportunities and prosper within their own communities.” For his part, Álvaro Arbeloa wanted to say that “it is a great responsibility and a great satisfaction to continue collaborating with the work of Crusade for Children in Mozambique.
